It's a thing you wouldn't choose to have, but, like addiction, it seems to just happen: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. This surgical procedure on my husband has changed both our daily habits to fit in with his recovery schedule. The hurry up and wait periods that accompany any kind of surgery have caused me to set some priorities on how I spend my time. I find that my writing, any kind of writing, serves as a good diversion. Let's hope that Tommy's recovery will allow progress to the point that we can drive once more together to the Gulf--or almost, at least to Mobile Bay for a writing retreat with Linda Busby Parker, Jan. 17-19.
